Yoga is Everywhere, Our Roots are Right Here
Yoga means union, and since day one HappyTree Yoga has proudly united formerly competing styles of yoga under a single roof, allowing our practitioners the opportunity to explore the path to health, happiness and radiance that best suits them.
Our Montreal yoga studio features a welcoming lounge, a retail store, changing rooms with showers and lockers, and an endless supply home made yogi tea. Most of all, HappyTree is committed to providing a space in which people can grow, the spirit can flourish, and the Self is warmly embraced.
We hope that each time you leave, you do so feeling whole, and happy.
Namaste.
Meet Melanie Richards, HappyTree Founder
Melanie Richards opened the doors of HappyTree Yoga in the fall of 2007 with hope, heart, and a pot of tea that hasn’t gone dry since. With a vibrant and ever growing community, we’re happy to say that the experience doesn’t have to end at the mat; we invite you to enjoy your time before and after class in our cozy lounge with complimentary caffeine-free tea, meet a friend or friend-to-be, read a book or stay for book club. Join us for kirtan, take part in retreats, clothing swaps or training mobs; you’ll be amazed!
2012 brings even more reasons to get thee to the Tree with the inauguration of our Wellness Room offering massages and healing practices, so that we can take even better care of you, as well as our first ever Yin and Hatha Teacher Training Programs.

HappyTree is the proud winner of the 2012 McGill Green Business Award
in the small services category!
Committed to green values from day one, our bamboo floors are not only gorgeous, but were chosen because of their sustainable farming and durability. We are proud recyclers, and offer blue boxes at the studio so that students can make the same choice. From our window spritz to our mat spray, to our energy efficient appliances, we aim to make the greener choice whenever possible. We’ve even installed a Trusource water system so that we can offer all students clean, purified water without the waste of plastic bottles.
